KAZUO OHNO - FELIZ CUMPLE SENSEI 27 de OCTUBRE cumplirías 104 años.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SENSEI KAZUO OHNO,
ON OCTOBER 27th you would have been 104 years old.

Kazuo Ohno represented, by means of his body, the sensibility wounded by a world tormented by the atomic bombs which broke the thin balance between the Universe and the World. Unique and irreplaceable like that is Butoh, refined and simple, from an immortal Kazuo Ohno that arose from the atomic ashes transforming them into expressed poetry. HAPPY BIRTHDAY SENSEI, ON OCTOBER 27th you would have been 104 years old.

URBAN BUTOH DANCE & EXPERIENCE IN THE NATURE

RECOVERING THE SENSES

by Master Gustavo Collini

THEATRE – DANCE – SINGING – CINEMA

The workshops outline immediate feelings, recovering each individual sense and providing the flow of expression towards others. The exercises deal with human growth, its processes and environment (birth, death, marriage and nature, with its human beings and elements).

It is a free personal and individual evolution. Old traditions and habits have to be broken in order to find something new beyond.

Is much more than an Asian aesthetics or showing-off the language of the body. Butoh is the reflection of the body over the body, an endless fight between immortal soul and mortal body. No scenic Eastern or Western art is necessary to perform the workshops.

“Butoh has been engendered for each dancer, actor or human being to discover inside himself a personal path, to recover their own creative expressivity. The Asian techniques provide us with a fusion between feelings and thought, sharpening the senses and integrating ourselves with our innermost Self”, by Gustavo Collini.

GUSTAVO COLLINI-SARTOR

Gustavo Collini is one of the few dancers of Butoh in the world that had the opportunity to study with the creative masters of the genre Yoshito Ohno, Kazuo Ohno and Akira Kazai, for ten years. He was chosen to give Butoh workshops in Tokyo in “Asbestos Kan” Butoh Centre. He also studied in the Jerzy Grotowski's Theatre Laboratory in Pontedera, Italy; in France, he studied "The Voice" at the Roy Hart International Arts Centre, and worked in Japan with the Japanese singer Michiko Hirayama (specialist in Zen and Gregorian chant). In Japan he also studied Noh Theatre (imperial theater) with Mr. Hideo Kanze and Kabuki with Mr. Ichimura Manjirou.

Nowadays he is an actor, a theatre and cinema director, a dancer and a teacher; and his career has expanded for twenty years in three continents - America, Asia and Europe.

When he returned to Buenos Aires a little more than ten years ago, he created Mundo Butoh Argentina, a movement that spreads the techniques of this dance through the TV and the cinema. In Buenos Aires he also has a study where he teaches artists from different disciplines such as singing, music, theatre, dance, plastic and cinematographic arts.

He was chosen by the “Latin-American Institute of Culture” to inaugurate the “XLIII Biennale Internazionale d’arte di Venecia”, representing Latin America with a version of “Romeo e Giulietta” together with his Italian company and school of scenic art “Teatro delle Immagini”, created by Collini in Venice in 1987. In New York he led a production directed by the legendary Ellen Stewart, director and creative of the off theatre “La Mama”; being invited by herself to act in Taormina (Italy) in the production of "Oedipus at Colonus".

Among his books and publications we can list The Images of a Theatre” and Kazuo Ohno, The Last Emperor of the Dance”, sponsored by the Japan Foundation.

With his television show Tango Butoh -a documentary-fiction series-, Collini becomes a pioneer in transmitting and making the art butoh known to all the Latin-American and Argentine audience.
